This book tells the entrepreneurial history of the Tremblay family from the first known entrepreneur, Gervais Du Tremblay in the Middle Ages in the Perche region of France around 1425. Then we go through the entrepreneurial history of the Tremblay family up to Pierre Tremblay , the ancestor of all the Tremblays in America, and Ozanne Achon, whom he married in Quebec in 1657.
We continue our story with the story of Pierre Tremblay in Quebec until his installation in the Charlevoix region. Then, we tell the story of the Tremblay family and especially the Tremblay-Mathias and Tremblay-Romaine. Several descendants of these two families who will have an impact on entrepreneurship in Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean. This book also includes family ties with the families of their wives. We also retrace their history from New France.
This book is a mix of genealogy, history and entrepreneurship. It relates the business ties between the founders of several companies. We are particularly interested in the emigration of the Tremblays to the United States. Around 1750, the three sons of Michel Tremblay and Geneviève Bouchard left Charlevoix, Quebec, Canada for the United States. On the order of the King of France, the Governor General of Quebec, invite them to settle near Detroit. They settled in Grand Marais et à Grosse Pointe in Wayne County, Michigan.
