INFLATION RATE FOR AUGUST 2022

According to Statistics Canada, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose 7.0% year over year in August, down from the 7.6% rise recorded in July. This is the second consecutive slowdown in year-over-year price growth. This slowdown is mainly due to lower gasoline prices in August compared to July.
